This is a supervised intern level psychologist position. It requires advanced training in comprehensive psychological assessment and treatment/interventions. Responsibilities, in a learning capacity, include psychological testing, provision of individual, group, and family therapy, development of behavioral treatment plans, and active functioning within a multidisciplinary team setting. This is a Drug and Alcohol-tested (DART) position under the criteria provided in the collective bargaining unit agreement due to regular contact with hospital patients. The preferred and appointed candidate will be subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and/or alcohol testing.

All staff with start dates on/after 08/01/2026 will train at the Southeast Michigan Psychiatric Hospital (SMPH) in Northville but, upon completion of training may work at the Walter Reuther Psychiatric Hospital (WRPH) until their position/classification officially moves from WRPH to SMPH at a date yet to be determined.
