Body Shop Technician

Body Shop TechnicianBody shop estimator will be responsible for the following:Assessing vehicle damage and writing an accurate estimate in CCC to send to insurance companies and customersProviding exceptional customer service to your customers with clear and frequent communication with customers/insurance carriers regarding status of repair work, and any issues that may ariseBeing able to communicate with parts and service departments frequentlyOpening RO's, opening purchase orders, billing labor & paint time into the system for techniciansKnowledge of being able to reconcile ticketsFrequently working together with body shop technicians on repairs to write clear and conscience estimates and supplements as neededAnswering and returning phone calls dailyPutting up with different personalities in a family-oriented environmentBeing able to lift over 40lbs, being in heat, rain, and cold elementsWilling to learn in a very fast paced environmentAble to multitaskWe work in CCC as well as CDK operating systems, and MicrosoftQualificationsAssociate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferredExperience in troubleshooting and repairing diesel-powered heavy equipmentBasic computer skillsMaintains good work habits and presents a favorable business image towards customers served by the companyAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memosAbility to write simple correspondenceAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizationAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructionsAbility to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situationsMust own proper tools to perform required repairsTypical Physical Activity While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to occasionally lift 75 pounds from floor to chest; reach and use the arms with a full range of motion; endure prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting while performing mechanical operations; exert push and pull forces with the arms in order to use various wrenches and tools; endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations; use hands to grasp hand tools and parts and climb onto and operate equipment. Typical Environmental Conditions Employees regularly work indoors around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places.
