Piedmont Door Solutions is looking for an Automatic Door Repair and Install Technician for our Columbia, SC branch. Our technicians repair, maintain, and install doors on location in commercial buildings, hospitals, stores, and more. We’re looking for someone with a background in residential or commercial doors, garage doors, construction, military, electrical work, fabrication, access control, glazing, carpentry, mechanical, installing or servicing products, or any other skilled trade. Piedmont Door Solutions provides the necessary training, tools, equipment, and vehicles. In this role you will... Learn to be a Piedmont Door Technician: Install, repair, and maintain doors, turnstiles, revolving doors, and other entrance or security products Take initiative: Proactively assist in projects, demonstrating autonomy in a high-expectation, low-supervision environment to drive project success. Learn and adapt: Embrace the opportunity to learn techniques from your trainer, building on existing skills and showing a desire to grow. Maintain professional worksite: Ensure a clean, organized, and professional worksite, paying attention to detail, taking pride in workmanship, and solving problems for customers. Work with office staff: Order and track parts, materials, and time spent on services. You've got what it takes if you have... We are searching for someone with automatic door or similar experience. Candidates should have a good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, problem solving and diagnostic skills and be familiar with power and hand tools. License: Must possess an unrestricted and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Education: Must have a high school diploma or GED. Experience: Comfortable using power tools and hand tools - personally or professionally. Preference for having worked with carpentry, electric, military, HVAC, or similar. Skills: Ability to stand, bend, and/or climb for long periods of time in a non-climate-controlled environment; lift 75+ pounds; work at heights/use a ladder Tests: Successful completion of a background check and drug screen required. COVID-19, flu, and other vaccinations may be required. What are the deal breakers? Candidates must have a clean criminal and motor vehicle record. Yearly flu shots and TB tests are required. LOCATION Piedmont Door Solutions has businesses and role openings in Charlotte, Greensboro, and Raleigh, NC; Columbia, SC; Atlanta, GA; Birmingham, AL; Lake Worth, FL; and Dallas and Houston, TX. Depending on which location you choose, you may have to drive up to 2 hours to job sites.
