Role Summary Cinemark Assistant Managers assist in the overall operation of the theatre. They ensure policies and procedures are followed and operational standards are achieved. They are cross‑trained in all departments to support where needed, and provide inspirational training to all employees. The Assistant Manager can become a Senior Assistant Manager, followed by Theatre Manager or General Manager after completing the Management Accreditation Program and working for a minimum of six months. Responsibilities Follow the direction of the General Manager. Support General Manager’s decisions in communication with the staff. Work in all departments and all theatre job functions. Train and coach Team Members in their specific job functions. Assist in the preparation of administrative and special reports for the General Manager. Observe and participate in the inspection of the theatre building, parking lot, landscaping, Cinemark property, roof, and exterior signage, and equipment condition. Report the need for building, property, and equipment repairs to the General Manager. Ensure that theatre Team Members follow the dress code. Interact with guests for improved service in the theatre and ensure that Team Members provide superior customer service. Learn and follow Cinemark’s guidelines, and enforce them fairly and consistently. Report all employee‑relations issues to the General Manager; in the GM’s absence, report to the Company Convercent portal. Maintain a high work‑ethic standard and code of conduct. Identify and sanitize high‑contact employee and guest areas. Use personal protective equipment while completing position‑specific tasks. Adapt to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasks. Address safety or security issues such as trip hazards, lighting, or suspicious persons. Perform other work‑related duties as assigned. Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age. High School or G.E.D. graduate preferred. Complete three basic courses (Management Foundations, Annual Certifications, and MAP Core) within Cinemark’s Management Accreditation Program. Complete basic food handling training and obtain any local or state‑mandated certification, health card, or food‑handlers permit where required. Safe Alcohol Service training for those who work with alcohol. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Regular and consistent attendance. Energetic and friendly attitude during each shift. Excellent guest service, accurate cash handling, and basic math skills. Interpersonal skills to communicate verbally and in writing with all ages, genders, and personalities. Ability to converse in and comprehend English. Work in a team environment and independently. Take and follow direction. Respond with a sense of urgency. Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Ability to train and lead others. Resolve conflict. Physical & Environmental Requirements Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, and reaching around the theatre. Noise level may be moderate to high at times. Work in a standing position for extended periods.
