Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in cardiac and telemetry nursing. This position requires a commitment to float as needed within the unit. The RN will provide essential care and assist in the management of patients according to their health needs.

Job Details

Shift: Days, 7 AM - 7 PM
Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week guaranteed
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
On Call Requirement: None

Patient Care Environment

This unit specializes in cardiac and telemetry care but does not operate as a stepdown unit. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 5:1 to 6:1, depending on staffing levels.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care following the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
Document patient history, symptoms, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers, identifying relevant issues and available resources.
Participate in nursing leadership competencies, including leading oneself and others.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in telemetry nursing or a related specialty preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current RN License in the state of employment or compact.
- BLS certification via AHA required.
- ACLS certification via AHA required.

Additional Information

New hires must attend an orientation tailored for experienced nurses within the first 30 days of hiring. Ongoing education and competency validation will be provided and required to maintain compliance with annual competency requirements.
