IT Business Analyst

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled IT Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in analysing business requirements, designing data solutions, and supporting project delivery across various organisational functions. The ideal applicant will have experience with data visualisation tools, database management, programming languages, and project management methodologies. Duties Analyse and document business processes and requirements to identify opportunities for optimisation and automation. Develop comprehensive data models and database designs to support organisational needs, utilising tools such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Visio. Create and maintain dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, and VBA to facilitate data-driven decision making. Support the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, system design, testing, implementation, and maintenance. Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis; utilise R and Python for advanced data analysis tasks. Collaborate with project teams to manage project timelines and deliverables using recognised project management practices. Design scripts in Bash (Unix shell) for automation purposes where applicable. Conduct business analysis activities to ensure solutions meet organisational goals while adhering to best practices in database design and analysis techniques. Utilise Visio for process mapping and workflow documentation to facilitate clear communication among stakeholders. Requirements Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst or similar role with a strong understanding of business analysis principles. Proficiency in data visualisation tools such as Tableau and Power BI. Extensive knowledge of SQL, R, Python, VBA, Bash (Unix shell), Oracle databases, Microsoft SQL Server, and related technologies. Experience with SDLC methodologies and project management practices. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively. Demonstrated expertise in database design and optimisation techniques. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Familiarity with Visio for process modelling is desirable. Relevant qualifications in Information Technology or Business Analysis are preferred but not essential.
