Bank Teller - Colonial Heights VA

This role provides members and prospective members with the full range of financial products and services offered by the branch. You will support depository accounts such as current (checking), savings, certificate, IRA, revocable trust and estate accounts, as well as lending products and credit and debit cards. You will deliver friendly, accurate and efficient service while handling cash and supporting day-to-day branch operations.

• Provide members and prospective members with information on the full range of financial products and services, including current (checking), savings, certificate, IRA, revocable trust and estate accounts.
• Support lending products and services by explaining options and processing basic enquiries in line with branch procedures.
• Assist members with credit and debit card services, including account enquiries and basic maintenance requests.
• Handle cash accurately and securely, including receiving deposits, processing withdrawals and performing cash exchanges in accordance with branch policies.
• Deliver high-quality, face-to-face customer service to members and prospective members, ensuring each interaction is professional, courteous and solution-focused.
• Perform administrative tasks to support branch operations, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring documentation is complete and compliant.
• Engage confidently with customers, actively listening to their needs and recommending appropriate products and services.
• Think creatively to provide alternative solutions for members, especially when initial requests cannot be fulfilled, and remain resilient when facing rejection.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth branch operations and a positive experience for all members.
• Maintain awareness of basic banking and financial procedures to answer common questions and guide members appropriately.

• Proven experience in customer-facing or member service roles, with confidence in speaking directly with people.
• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to provide friendly, professional and supportive assistance.
• Cash handling experience, with a focus on accuracy, security and attention to detail.
• Administrative skills to support branch operations, including maintaining records and handling routine documentation.
• Some knowledge of banking or prior financial services experience.
• Ability to think creatively and provide alternative solutions when needed.
• Confidence in dealing with rejection and maintaining a positive, professional approach.
• Strong communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
• Ability to work effectively in a customer service-facing environment within a financial institution.

• Experience in banking, banking services or financial institutions.
• Previous experience in a teller, cashier or similar cash-handling position.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly with customers and members.
• A proactive, confident and resilient attitude when engaging with the public.

This role is fully on site at a branch location, working in a customer-facing environment where you will interact directly with members throughout the day. You will alternate between standing and sitting depending on business needs and member foot traffic. The schedule runs Monday to Saturday, with one day off during the week when working Saturdays. The branch environment is professional and service-oriented, focused on delivering a high standard of member experience while maintaining accurate and secure handling of cash and financial transactions.

This is a Contract position based out of Colonial Heights, VA.

The pay range for this position is $21.42 - $21.42/hr.
