Our organization is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to become a vital member of our Critical Care team at our facility in Portland, ME.

The ACNP will engage in daily patient rounds alongside a collaborative team of fellows, residents, and students. Responsibilities will include formulating and executing care plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, managing admissions and discharges, and facilitating family meetings. This role is situated in a dynamic environment that is continuously evolving. The ACNP will also be involved in research and quality improvement initiatives related to Medical Critical Care, Neuro Critical Care, and/or Surgical Critical Care patients. Our program offers numerous educational opportunities, such as critical care grand rounds, teaching rounds, journal clubs, case conferences, and morbidity and mortality reviews. A commitment to lifelong learning, teaching, and being an integral part of an interdisciplinary care team is essential.

Our facility is the only Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center in Maine, featuring 637 beds and serving as an Academic Medical Center located on the stunning coast of Maine.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's and Master's Degrees are required.
• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program is essential.
• A postgraduate training program in critical care or a related specialty, or equivalent experience, is mandatory.
• A current license from the State of Maine or eligibility for licensure is required.
• Current BLS certification is necessary.
