CDL Driver Recruiting Support Specialist

Job Summary The CDL Driver Recruiting Support Specialist will serve as the first point of contact for potential CDL driver candidates, taking and making calls to warm leads, qualifying them through screening, and providing essential information about our company, its opportunities, and the positions available. Key Responsibilities Lead Generation: Utilize Tenstreet ATS, referrals, and the online database to identify potential CDL drivers. Initiate contact with candidates via phone, email, and other communication methods to assess interest and qualifications. Provide information, build rapport, and influence potential drivers to drive for the company. Review DOT, state, local, and company requirements to assess candidates' qualifications and compliance with CDL requirements. Collect and review CDL driver applications to ensure completeness and minimum qualifications. Verify application information and communicate with applicants for additional details or clarification. Conduct initial pre‑screening interviews to assess qualifications and suitability. Evaluate DOT, criminal, and employment records to meet hiring criteria and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records of candidate documentation and information. Maintain an organized and up‑to‑date database of CDL driver applicants and their application status. Track and report key recruitment metrics to management regularly. Administer relevant tests or assessments to evaluate candidates' abilities. Generate regular and ad‑hoc reports as needed by management. Collaborate with CDL Driver Recruiters to identify suitable candidates for available positions. Provide support during the interview and selection process as needed. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies. Schedule and confirm interviews with Driver Recruiters. Continuously seek ways to improve the application processing and lead generation process. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in CDL driver recruitment. Develop and maintain positive relationships with current and potential CDL drivers. Ensure constant communication with applicants throughout the early stages of the recruiting life cycle. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS), recruitment software, and related tools. Strong computer and typing skills in a Windows environment, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Ability to handle high volumes of inbound and outbound calls and email. Capacity to work in a fast‑paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines. Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team while taking initiative. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field. Strong knowledge of CDL requirements, FMCSA regulations, and industry standards. Previous experience in recruitment, especially CDL driver recruitment or a related role within transportation or logistics. Exceptional organizational and time‑management abilities. A commitment to safety and compliance. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate candidate documentation. Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions. Exceptional communication — strong oral, written, interpersonal skills, and active listening skills.
