Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a key role in ensuring that inventory, incoming shipments, and outgoing orders are handled accurately, efficiently, and with care. This position requires an energetic, relationship-minded professional who works independently, creates clear plans and schedules, and consistently completes tasks with excellence. You will support daily warehouse and inventory operations while contributing to a positive, service-focused work culture.

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments to ensure accuracy against packing lists and purchase orders.
• Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments in accordance with company standards and carrier requirements.
• Perform inventory control activities, including counting, tracking, and updating inventory records to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Organize and store small to mid-sized packages in designated locations to support efficient warehouse operations.
• Operate shipping and receiving equipment, including forklifts, in a safe and responsible manner when required.
• Create and follow daily work plans and schedules to complete shipping, receiving, and inventory tasks on time.
• Enter shipping, receiving, and inventory data accurately using a computer and keyboard.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other departments to coordinate shipments and resolve issues.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area in the shipping and receiving department.
• Communicate with humility, respect, and a service mindset when interacting with internal and external partners.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and support the growth of the business.
• Handle packages with care to prevent damage and ensure that orders are fulfilled correctly.

• Experience operating a forklift in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse setting.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving documentation and basic inventory systems.

• Demonstrated reliability and consistency in meeting deadlines and completing assigned tasks.
• Willingness to take on new responsibilities as operations expand.

This role is based in a shipping and receiving setting that involves frequent handling of small to mid-sized packages and working around inventory storage areas. You will use equipment such as forklifts and computer systems for data entry and inventory control. The workday includes standing, walking, lifting, and moving packages throughout the facility. Attire is practical and suitable for a warehouse environment, allowing you to work comfortably and safely while performing physical and operational tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grove City, OH.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
