We surround our technologists with interesting challenges, innovative minds, and emerging technologies.Title: Enterprise - ServiceNow SAM ArchitectWhat You'll Do:As a SAM Architect, you will serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader for ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) engagements and pre-sales activities, spanning software entitlement, license position, SaaS management, and audit defense. You will architect, propose, and lead solution delivery based on requirements provided by the Slalom team and clients. Your solutions will be holistic, scalable, and designed with repeatable patterns for maximum productivity. You will engage confidently with both business and technology stakeholders, demonstrating high business proficiency, professional maturity, and executive presence. Your primary responsibility is solution architecture and delivery leadership. That said, this is a techno-functional role: you bring enough process depth to cover for the business process consultant when an engagement calls for it, and enough commercial judgment to support engagement management periodically on scope, estimation, staffing, and delivery planning.* Lead ServiceNow SAM implementation workshops to deliver business process designs, technical requirements, user stories, and solution artifacts * Architect end-to-end SAM solutions including software entitlement and license compliance, discovery and normalization, effective license position calculation, software reclamation and true-up, SaaS license management, and audit readiness * Develop comprehensive solution design documents and roadmaps from complex licensing, entitlement, procurement, and financial requirements * Partner with clients using a future-focused mindset to understand their software estate, publisher exposure, SaaS sprawl, and cost-optimization goals, aligning ServiceNow capabilities to measurable savings and reduced audit risk * Lead and participate in design workshops, development, testing, deployment, and organizational change activities across enterprise and public sector accounts * Architect SAM operating models, entitlement data governance frameworks, license-optimization and reclamation methodologies, renewal and true-up strategies, and discovery-to-entitlement reconciliation approaches * Ensure quality delivery of SAM solutions leveraging ServiceNow best practices, platform standards, and proven implementation patterns * Advise executive stakeholders on license compliance posture, vendor audit defense, software spend optimization, SaaS rationalization, and software asset management maturity * Flex into business process consultant work on an as-needed basis, running discovery and design sessions, eliciting requirements, and writing epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria when an engagement calls for it * Support engagement management periodically, contributing to scope definition, estimation, staffing plans, risk and dependency management, and delivery planning alongside the engagement lead * Mentor teammates on SAM platform best practices including SAM Pro, software models and entitlements, normalization and reconciliation, license metrics, reclamation automation, and SaaS integrations * Respond to Requests for Information and Proposals (RFIs/RFPs) with authoritative SAM content, implementation approaches, and value propositions * Contribute to practice development through delivery accelerators, thought leadership, industry insights, and SAM-focused client offerings * Collaborate across ServiceNow SAM and adjacent workflows including Hardware Asset Management, IT Service Management, IT Operations Management, Source-to-Pay Operations, AI, and Data Foundations to deliver integrated platform solutions What You'll Bring: You are a seasoned Software Asset Management practitioner who thrives in complex enterprise environments and has a track record of delivering transformational ServiceNow SAM implementations. You lead from the architecture seat, and you are equally comfortable stepping into process work or helping steer an engagement when the team needs it.* 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow SAM design and delivery experience, with deep expertise across Software Asset Management, SaaS License Management, IT Asset Management, or software licensing and compliance advisory * Proven ability to deliver complex implementations with multiple stakeholders, recommending and executing solutions that drive measurable business value, adoption, and organizational alignment * Passion for leveraging ServiceNow SAM to streamline software asset operations, improve software asset manager and procurement experiences, and bring visibility and control to software entitlement, consumption, and spend across the estate * Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels of an organization, from software asset managers and platform teams to VP of Procurement, CIO, CFO, and C-suite executives, translating compliance, licensing, and cost concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences * Strong consultative approach with the ability to assess SAM maturity, define roadmaps, manage client expectations, and deliver on tight schedules with high attention to detail * Experience leading solution design across software entitlement and license compliance, discovery and normalization, effective license position calculation, software reclamation and true-up, SaaS license management, and audit readiness * Enough process and functional fluency across software licensing, entitlement management, and audit readiness to run a requirements or design workshop and cover for the business process consultant when needed * Commercial and delivery judgment sufficient to support engagement management periodically, including estimation, scope and change control, staffing models, and risk management * Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor and relationship manager to client stakeholders throughout engagement lifecycles * Experience facilitating executive workshops focused on audit readiness, license optimization, renewal planning, and software asset governance Qualifications: At least 5 full-lifecycle ServiceNow SAM implementations in the role of technical lead, solution architect, or enterprise architectREQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS * Certified System Administrator (CSA) * Certified Application Developer (CAD) * CIS - Software Asset Management (CIS-SAM) Strongly preferred * CIS - Data Foundations (CIS-DF) * CIS - Hardware Asset Management (CIS-HAM) * CIS - IT Service Management (CIS-ITSM) Platform & Integration Expertise* Strong ServiceNow platform expertise (JavaScript, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, Workspace and UI Builder configuration, scoped applications, and Reporting/Performance Analytics) * Strong CMDB, CSDM, and Discovery foundation knowledge, including software installation data, normalization, and asset-to-CI reconciliation * Experience integrating ServiceNow SAM with SaaS management platforms, endpoint and discovery tools, procurement and contract repositories, ERP and financial systems, and publisher entitlement portals * Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong executive presence * Experience leading executive stakeholder discussions, business case development, and value/ROI modeling * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience preferred About UsSlalom is a fiercely human business and technology consulting company that leads with outcomes to bring more value, in all ways, always.
