Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients undergoing bone marrow transplant treatments. Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy and other oncologic treatments following established protocols.
• Perform central line draws and manage IV infusions using Baxter IV pumps and ICU medical chemo adapters.
• Monitor patient vital signs, laboratory values, and response to treatments to ensure safety and effectiveness.
• Document patient care accurately in electronic medical records (Meditech and Onco systems).
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, side effects, and post-discharge care.
• Maintain compliance with unit policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license and current BLS & ACLS certifications.
• Possess at least 1 year of current hospital acute care experience in BMT/HemOnc units.
• Demonstrate proficiency in chemotherapy administration and central line management.
• Have previous experience working with Meditech and Onco EMR systems.
• Prefer candidates with ONS certification and strong interpersonal skills.
