Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours Location: Taunton, MA Program Type: Outpatient CBHC/Mobile Crisis Program Name: Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) Pay Range: Starting salary $42,000 Job responsibilities will include: Utilize personal and professional life experience to provide non-judgmental, unconditional peer support to parents and caregivers served by the CBHC. Engage in a collaborative relationship with caregiver and support the parent/caregiver in meeting their youth’s needs. Serve as a bridge to ensure that family and providers understand each other’s perspective and information. Model effective coping techniques for parents and caregivers. Promote parent/caregiver empowerment by including linkages to peer/parent support and self-help groups in the community. Teach the parent/caregiver how to identify formal and community-based resources (e.g., after-school programs, food assistance, housing resources, etc.). Make referrals and aid parents/caregivers in connecting with outside services and supports (e.g.; partial hospitalization programs, In Home Therapy, In Home Behavioral Services, etc.). Aid parents/caregivers in navigating educational environments and supports (e.g., IEP processes, 504 Plans, educational advocates, etc.). Support Mobile Crisis clinicians in connecting parents/caregivers with identified treatment recommendations (e.g., outpatient therapy, In Home Therapy, ...anything else MCI tends to recommend, etc.). Customer service and client outreach to support parents/caregivers on waitlist and identify needed supports (e.g., Mobile Crisis, Urgent Care, etc). Obtain and maintain MassHealth Certified Application Counselor certificate to support parents/caregivers navigating enrollment in MassHealth. Other duties as assigned (e.g., engagement report/calls, MCI alerts, etc.). Requirements High school diploma/GED or college diploma and a minimum of 2 years working with children/families. Experience as a caregiver of a youth with emotional and/or behavioral health needs. Experience navigating any of the child/family-serving systems and advocating for family members involved with behavioral health systems. The candidate must possess good organizational skills, as well as effective verbal, written and computer skills. Proficiency with computers including ability to use or learn to use an electronic health record system, audio-visual communication technology (i.e. doxy or Zoom), and some use of Microsoft Office suite for emails, internal document access, and organization.
