Graduate Admissions Counselor

Job Description:

The Graduate Admissions Counselor is responsible for the strategic recruitment and enrollment of domestic and international students applying to one of McDaniel's graduate or professional programs. A highly detailed individual, the Graduate Admissions Counselor will be a skilled communicator able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Due to the high number of graduate and professional programs and the unique admissions requirements for each one, the selected candidate will be proactive about learning program nuances and be able to work closely with and counsel individual students. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions.

Key Responsibilities

This role serves as the primary point of contact for prospective and current graduate students, providing guidance on academic programs, admission requirements, enrollment processes, and funding opportunities. The position manages the full graduate recruitment and admissions cycle, including outreach, relationship building, interviewing prospective students, application review, admission decisions, and enrollment support. Responsibilities include utilizing Slate CRM to track and nurture prospective students, conducting outreach through calls, emails, events, and travel, and supporting international student admissions and compliance processes, including I-20 issuance when applicable. The role also collaborates with campus partners to enhance enrollment efforts, develops and implements marketing and communication strategies, manages graduate program web and social media content, assists with virtual and on-campus recruitment events, and maintains records and reports to support recruitment and enrollment goals.



Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid driver's license with two or less points.
• Excellent writing and verbal skills are essential.
• Excellent interpersonal communications skills required
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills required.
• Must be committed to the value of a liberal arts education.
• Must be comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
• Ability to utilize software packages related to admissions.
• US Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident Status (as per federal regulatory requirements to be a Designated School Official)
• Experience working with international students and some demonstrated knowledge of SEVIS software and related federal regulations a plus.
