Veterinarian – Southern Campuses Racine Campus – Mount Pleasant, WI 53177; Kenosha Campus – Kenosha, WI 53142. Salary Range: $95,000 – $120,000. Position Type: Full Time. Education Level: DVM. How you’ll impact our mission The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is hiring a full‑time veterinarian to support animals and the community through spay/neuter surgery, vaccine clinics, and providing care for homeless animals in our shelter. You will work with a team of veterinarians who practice a culture of mentorship, training, and support for each other. The veterinarian reports to a supervising veterinarian and will either work at our Racine Campus or split their time between our Racine Campus and our Kenosha Campus, depending on the candidate’s experience and organizational needs. Veterinarians at WHS receive an AVMA membership and funding for liability insurance and continuing education. WHS is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Key accountabilities Perform high-volume, high-quality, safe spay/neuter surgeries for shelter and public animals. Perform other surgeries as needed for shelter animals. Ensure safe, effective and efficient medical processes from check‑in to discharge, including follow‑up. Vaccinate animals and provide quality medical screenings. Monitor the daily health of client and shelter animals. Provide medical information to clients and answer questions as needed. Develop and implement treatment plans as needed for animals in shelter and foster. Train and support WHS team members in all aspects of patient care and efficient/safe clinic practices, while maintaining a professional and positive approach. All other duties as assigned.
