Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ Years License: RN Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS (must be from American Heart Association), AWHONN (must be renewed every 2 years) Must-Have: Labor and delivery experience Description: Option of 13 or 26 week contract. This facility is a 198-bed, level III trauma center. It includes state-of-the-art operating suites. It provides healthcare services to a large regional area. The hospital offers a childbirth center, cancer center, pediatric unit, and an extensive imaging and lab testing services. Accredited by PCI, Mammography, and Laboratory. Recognized as one of the top 20 most beautiful hospitals. The facility has received awards in healthcare excellence. Located in a beautiful region offering various recreational activities. Features include multiple rivers, golf courses, lakes, and national parks. Provides opportunities for hiking, kayaking, and historical sightseeing. Must have at least 2 years of experience in cervical exams and infant deliveries. RNs will occasionally assist in deliveries when a physician is not available. Must perform duties consistent with industry standards with minimal supervision. Experience in a community hospital setting is essential. Charge-level experience is required. Unit information includes 17 beds and 2 triage rooms. Patient ratios are based on established standards. The unit averages 75 deliveries monthly. Key equipment includes fetal monitors and electronic health record systems. Supervisory personnel oversee operations. The patient population includes adults and newborns. Skills preferred include fetal monitoring and stabilization of neonates. Common diagnoses include labor, gestational diabetes, hypertension, and drug use during pregnancy. Required education includes ADN or BSN.
