Technical Support Engineer The Opportunity As a Technical Support Engineer, you will maintain and operate a network of simulators and modeling capabilities that provide rehearsal and exercise support for various military units. Your role will encompass managing the network, ensuring Authority to Operate (ATO) compliance, improving system design and architecture, troubleshooting Tier 1‑3 issues during operations, performing hardware installations, lifecycle management, software releases, deployments, and driving new feature development and innovation. Responsibilities Conduct daily operational checks for local air and ground simulation systems and associated outstation systems. Perform preventative maintenance on simulators and related systems. Support training in live, virtual, and constructive environments. Develop and maintain configuration‑management processes for geographically separated systems. Operate the virtual environment to facilitate large‑scale training exercises, identify and track deficiencies, and improve system functionality. Build, install, and integrate new simulators and network components. Communicate daily as part of an Agile Scrum team, demonstrating effective troubleshooting skills and flexibility with tasks. Qualifications Experience working on complex, networked, distributed systems. Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. Experience supporting and collaborating with DoD operational personnel. Strong troubleshooting skills for basic network and operating‑system issues. Ability to create technical documentation. Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time. TS/SCI clearance Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of Tier1 Technical Support experience or 5+ years of Tier1 Technical Support experience in lieu of a degree. Security+ certification. Nice to Have Experience supporting distributed mission‑operations training. Experience with programming or scripting languages. Experience with WinTAK and ATAK. Experience with green radios. Experience working with MPU5s. Experience with firewalls. Experience with ACAS. Experience implementing STIGs. Knowledge of Image Generator (IG) and Constructive Force Generator (CGF) programs such as MACE and VRSG. Clearance Applicants will be required to undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required. Compensation The projected annualized salary range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 USD. Salary is determined by factors such as location, education, skills, experience, contract affordability, and organizational requirements. The posting will close within 90 days of the posting date.
