Job Description
CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) - 3x12 Hour Days

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12 hour shifts, Day shift from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM. Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required as scheduled.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CVICU Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of CVICU and open heart experience. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of cardiac surgeries, including CABG and valve replacements, and be adept in managing complex patient cases post-operatively.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to post-operative cardiac patients, ensuring optimum recovery and monitoring.
• Manage ventilator settings and oversee respiratory therapy in collaboration with the respiratory services team.
• Administer blood products and manage intravenous therapies, including titration of vasoactive drips.
• Monitor patient vital signs and manage dysrhythmias and other cardiac complications.
• Assist with the removal of chest tubes and central lines as required.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient care activities accurately using Epic charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in Maryland or Compact State.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 2+ years of CVICU and open heart experience.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
