Daily unit assignments are determined based on real‑time staffing needs at both locations. Role Overview Position is well‑suited for nurses with a minimum of one year of inpatient experience in one or more of the following: Med‑Surg, Intermediate Care, Critical Care. New team members will be placed based on their clinical background. After approximately six months, nurses may receive additional training to float into other specialties and care areas. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process on the Rex Staffing Response Team. Responsibilities Education – Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self. Attends education programs and uses patient education materials. Assesses readiness to learn of patients/family. Evaluation of Care – Identifies expected patient outcomes, seeks guidance, participates in interdisciplinary discussions, and communicates relevant information. Implementation – Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems. Performs bedside point‑of‑care testing. Uses policies and procedures. Organizes and prioritizes care. Leadership – Develops goals to promote professional growth. Participates in unit goals and performance improvement. Uses communication systems and promotes cost‑effective care. Gives feedback and promotes a safe environment. Patient Assessment – Determines priorities for care, synthesizes assessment data, anticipates discharge needs, and develops relationships with families. Planning – Collaborates with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care. Uses resources and addresses cultural issues. Research – Reads journals and brings ideas to staff for assessment of applicability. Other Information Education Requirements: Graduation from a school of professional nursing. If hired after January 6 2014, must enroll within four years of employment and obtain a bachelor’s or master’s in nursing within seven years. Licensure/Certification Requirements: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. Professional Experience Requirements: One year of nursing experience.
