Senior Software Engineer/Technical AnalystJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Group Operations Technology team. This hybrid role combines business analysis and hands-on development, enabling you to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions. You will work across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), partnering with cross-functional teams—including Business Analysts, Architects, and global engineering teams—to deliver modern, high-quality enterprise applications. This role also offers opportunities to contribute to modernization initiatives and leverage AI-enabled development practices to enhance productivity and innovation.Primary ResponsibilitiesTranslate business requirements into technical specifications, system designs, and user storiesDevelop and maintain applications using Java, REST APIs, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and SQLParticipate in Agile ceremonies (PI Planning, sprint planning, retrospectives)Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to deliver scalable solutionsAnalyze and troubleshoot APIs using tools such as Postman and SoapUISupport integration with enterprise systems and back-office platformsPerform unit testing and support integration testing effortsProvide production support, including issue resolution and root cause analysisContribute to application modernization, cloud adoption, and innovation initiativesParticipate in proof-of-concepts (POCs) and leverage AI tools to improve development efficiencyContinuously build skills through training, certifications, and hands-on learningQA TestingQualificationsRequired (Need to Have)Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience in software development or systems analysisStrong programming skills in Java, REST APIs, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL and NoSQL, Relational DBExperience with MVC architecture and multi-tier application designExperience working in Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsExposure to cloud technologies (like AWS, AZURE)Perform quality assurance activities, including unit testing, integration testing, and defect resolution, to ensure the delivery of high-quality softwarePreferred skills (Candidates who do not possess all preferred qualifications should demonstrate a strong aptitude and willingness to develop these skills through training and professional development.)Experience with TIBCO Business Works, iProcess, or workflow automation toolsExperience in performance testing and system tuningFamiliarity with AI-assisted development toolsDomain experience in Insurance or Financial ServicesExperience in Python codingLocationThree days a week at a Guardian location in Bethlehem, PA, Holmdel, NJ or New York, NYSalary Range:$95,170.00 - $156,355.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.
