Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The Department of Psychological Science is a large and dynamic department in the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The Department has more than 50 full-time and many part-time faculty supporting a major and minor in psychology, including a fully online undergraduate program. In the Department of Psychological Science, our accomplished faculty guide students in the study of behavior and mental processes through a comprehensive program that promotes scientific thinking and cultivates transferable skills that lead to meaningful careers. Our psychology majors gain valuable hands-on experiences and skill-building opportunities across the curriculum by engaging in high-impact practices such as study abroad programs, internships, peer mentoring, and research experiences. Committed to rigorous scholarly activity and evidence-based teaching, we develop students as global citizens, competent interns, peer educators, skilled researchers, and confident leaders who are well-prepared for the next stages of their personal and professional journeys. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Psychology in the Department of Psychological Science with a preferred start date of August 2027. This is a nine-month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate psychology courses that support the psychology major, such as Introduction to General Psychology, Research Methods, Statistics, Advanced Laboratory, Capstone, and other psychology courses consistent with the candidate's expertise and departmental needs.
• Maintain a standard teaching load of 12-15 credit hours (typically four to five courses) per semester.
• Teach courses in a variety of instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats, and to classes of varying sizes, including large-enrollment sections, and on the Kennesaw or Marietta campuses.
• Demonstrate a commitment to effective teaching, student engagement, and student success.
• Provide academic mentoring and support to undergraduate students.
• Engage in service activities that support the department, college, university, profession, and/or community.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Psychology or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
• Demonstrated experience teaching, mentoring, and/or supporting student success in higher education settings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching undergraduate psychology courses, such as Introduction to General Psychology, Careers in Psychology, Research Methods, Statistics, Advanced Laboratory, and/or Capstone Courses.
• Experience teaching in multiple instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and asynchronous online formats.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, course design, and course delivery.
• Experience teaching and supporting students from varied backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to student success.
• Experience using instructional technologies and evidence-based teaching practices to enhance student learning.
• Evidence of effective mentoring and support of undergraduate students.
• Demonstrated commitment to collaboration and service within an academic department, college, university, and/or professional community.
