General Job Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, treat and manage a wide range of adult medical conditions, both acute and chronic, such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.

• Conduct physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and assess overall patient health.

Minimum Education Requirements:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).

License & Certifications:

• Board certification in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
• Active and unrestricted medical license in Texas.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Experience:

• While specific requirements may vary, most locum internal medicine physician positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting.
