Certifications: BLS, CCC-SLP Must-Have: - Experience performing Video Fluoroscopy studies preferred, but candidates with required hospital experience may be considered without this. - Required skills include Cognition, Communication, Language, Motor Speech, and Swallowing. Description: We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for an acute care setting. This position involves providing assessment and treatment for patients with communication and swallowing disorders. The caseload will include diverse diagnoses, with an emphasis on trauma, stroke, brain injury, and spinal cord injury. The clinician will be responsible for conducting bedside swallow evaluations and interpreting modified barium swallow studies. Patient age groups will range from adolescents to geriatrics. The position requires collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust treatment plans. The daily workload includes managing approximately 12-15 patients. Candidates must be comfortable working in a variety of clinical settings, including ICU, ED, and post-anesthesia care units. Applicants should be flexible and ready to float between multiple units as needed. This role does not cover burn patients. We are open to first-time travelers for this position. The hospital is a teaching facility and offers extensive learning opportunities.
