Senior Principal Electrical Engineer

Senior Principal Electrical Engineer – Undersea & Electronics Systems Location: Portsmouth, RI (US–RI–PORTSMOUTH–PS3) Requirements: U.S. citizen, U.S. person, or with immigration status that permits obtaining a U.S. government‑issued security clearance. Active DoD Secret clearance required day one; Top Secret clearance is preferred. Responsibilities Perform complex electrical design, development, and documentation of components, sub‑assemblies, and major end items for undersea acoustic sensors in accordance with system requirements. Present technical and programmatic content to customers and internal stakeholders. Support business development by preparing proposal cost and technical volumes. Collaborate across multiple disciplines/functions to solve complex technical challenges in a fast‑paced, team environment. Occasionally travel within the continental U.S. to customer sites or suppliers; international or longer duration travel assignments are available but optional. Qualifications Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10years of relevant experience. Experience with magnetic and power‑supply design, including transformers, inductors, filters, and simulation tools such as Simetrix or SPICE. Expertise in analog circuit design for feedback systems, noise reduction, grounding, and EMI for ship and submarine systems. Hands‑on bench testing, waveform analysis, and component validation (CCA) experience. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively across technical and non‑technical audiences. Experience leading teams, developing customers’ SOWs, and writing technical proposals. Salary and Benefits Salary range: $132,400 – $251,600 USD, depending on experience and qualifications.
