Lobby Receptionist

The Lobby Receptionist serves campus guests, residents, faculty, and staff; attends to general campus inquiries (face to face and on the phone); and provides administrative support to Enrollment Management/Admissions. As a receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for the university. The receptionist always maintains an outgoing and engaging demeanor.

As the lobby host, be proactively present both physically and mentally to create a welcoming space. Engaging guests, students, and staff in your space is the first step to meeting their needs. Always maintains a professional personal presentation & appearance. Maintains a safe & clean lobby and the public areas of Wright Hall. Serve as an integral element of the undergraduate recruitment communication plan. Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls on the main university number while providing basic information when needed. Receive and alert the recipient or department (Call, IM, or Email) for courier deliveries. Assist in clerical maintenance of prospective student management system (Slate). Assist with ViewSouthern, PreviewSouthern, and other events hosted by the Enrollment Management Office. Back-up Call Center Manager as necessary. Crosstrain in other areas of Enrollment Management.

Must demonstrate track record of effective guest service and interpersonal communication; be organized and attentive to detail; be flexible between guests on the phone and in person; be able to organize, multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure; demonstrate sound judgment. Intermittent Temporary Employment, on an as-needed basis. High school diploma required, Associate Degree preferred. Proven work experience in similar roles, telephone skills, solid communication skills, both written and verbal, proficient in Microsoft Office products, empathetic listening, professionalism, customer focus, and organized. An expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and an SDA church member in good and regular standing.
