We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager for our Emergency Department to provide leadership and oversight for daily clinical operations in a high-volume, Level I Trauma Center. The Nurse Manager is responsible for promoting safe, efficient, compassionate, and high-quality patient care while supporting staff development, operational excellence, and organizational goals.

This role partners closely with nursing and hospital leadership to allocate resources, improve clinical outcomes, support evidence-based practice, and ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards. The ideal candidate is an engaged leader who builds strong teams, develops staff, and thrives in a fast-paced emergency care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, supervision, facilitation, and coordination of clinical care within the Emergency Department.
• Oversee daily department operations while promoting patient safety, quality, efficiency, and compassionate care.
• Lead and support initiatives focused on quality improvement, clinical excellence, patient experience, and operational performance.
• Collaborate with nursing and organizational leadership on strategic planning, innovation, and evaluation of initiatives.
• Utilize clinical, human resource, and financial data to support sound operational and leadership decisions.
• Promote evidence-based practice and the integration of research into clinical and operational processes.
• Recruit, onboard, mentor, and retain nursing staff by creating a supportive environment focused on professional growth and development.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, respect, inclusion, and continuous learning.
• Support the professional development of nurses, students, and colleagues.
• Participate as a member of the leadership team to achieve department and organizational goals.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, professional standards, and organizational policies.
• Promote a positive work environment that helps new employees successfully acclimate to the department and organizational culture.

Required Qualifications

• BSN required , or equivalent combination such as ADN with MSN or BA with MSN.
• Master’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license with the North Carolina Board of Nursing . An eNLC license may apply; candidates should confirm eligibility with NCBON.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of recent nursing experience .
• At least 2 years of relevant hospital clinical experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Previous formal or informal nursing leadership experience.
