Educational Sign-Language InterpreterSCHOOL LOCATION: Clare-Gladwin Area SchoolREPORTS TO: Director of Special EducationWORK SCHEDULE: Full-time; Five (5) days per week as per the School schedule and calendar.WAGES: According to the Terms of the Master Agreement for MEA Starting Pay: $23.04 per hour, or higher - based on actual years of experienceSTARTING DATE: 2026-2027 School Year (August 2026)JOB SUMMARY: The Educational Sign Language Interpreter works within local districts through Clare-Gladwin RESD under the direction of the Teacher Consultant for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This position will also assist the teacher(s) with other teaching/learning activities and work with the teacher(s) as a member of an instructional team.Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalency required; two-year college preferred.- Valid BEI 2 or EIPA 4.0 (or higher) certification acceptable in the State of Michigan or National Certification.- Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to understand and work with children of all ages.Essential Duties- Interpret between spoken and sign language in classroom and school settings.- Support instruction with individuals and small groups.- Assist with implementation of lesson plans.- Supervise students as needed.- Maintain confidentiality and a safe learning environment.APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open Until Filled
