RN - Stepdown


Job Details:


• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 13-week contract with guaranteed 48 hours per week
• Overtime after 48 hours worked
• Must work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Patient ratio typically 1:4
• Care for 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit patients
• Handle post-operative CABG/valve, thoracotomy, vascular procedures
• Manage patients with arrhythmias, CHF, post-procedure cardiac catheterization
• Work with pacemaker, defibrillator, and ablation patients
• Treat acute chest pain/MI and medical/surgical overflow cases
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• Must pass EKG test during first week of hire
• Must have 1 year strong cardiac experience (Cardiac SDU/Intermediate Cardiac/Cardiac ICU)
• Requires 2 years IMC/PCU/Telemetry experience
• Must have experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips
• At least one travel assignment must be completed
• 1 year recent EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Must be outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• During flu season, unvaccinated staff required to wear masks at all times
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Associate degree or certificate required, bachelor's degree preferred

This healthcare facility operates a fast-paced 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit with high patient turnover. The facility provides comprehensive cardiac care services including post-operative care for complex cardiac procedures, arrhythmia management, and interventional cardiology procedures. The organization maintains high standards for cardiac care and utilizes EPIC charting systems to support quality patient outcomes.
