Title Clerk

Responsibilities

• Accurately calculate and submit lender payoffs and customer proceeds.
• Audit, verify, and submit contracts to lenders for funding; reconcile and submit payment for all service contracts.
• Process and re-assign vehicle titles for sold vehicles, resolving titling issues through communication with customers, management, and regulatory agencies.
• Examine vehicle titles for accuracy and compliance with state requirements, including verification of VIN numbers, odometer readings, lien releases, and absence of alterations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DMV laws and regulations related to vehicle titles, and interpret titling regulations for multiple states as needed.
• Submit manufacturer warranties for customers.
• Provide excellent customer service to F&I and sales teams, as well as regulatory agencies, to resolve paperwork issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Corporate Accountant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Three to five years of related experience in title processing or a similar administrative role.
• Advanced computer skills and ability to learn specialized software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members and external contacts.
• Effective problem-solving skills and ability to proactively address work-related challenges.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Technical aptitude for understanding complex topics and specialized information.
• Ability to perform sedentary work with occasional filing, including lifting files, opening cabinets, and bending or standing as necessary.
• Notary preferred but not required.
