Respiratory Therapist As a Respiratory Therapist (RT), you will assess, treat, and care for patients of all ages who suffer from pulmonary (breathing) disorders. Your role will involve analyzing and performing diagnostic testing, conducting relevant exams, and setting up and utilizing cardiopulmonary equipment to assist or monitor patients' breathing. Responsibilities Gather data to accurately assess a patient's current health status. Assess the patient according to their physical or age-related needs. Observe, record, and report symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. Administer and record prescribed medications, treatments, and diagnostic procedures. Responsible for airway management including performing endotracheal intubations and extubations, pulmonary hygiene, and tracheostomy care, as well as emergency life support procedures. Provide extensive health education to patients and the general population through community services. Schedule This is a three 12‑hour night shifts position (7 PM–7:30 AM) each week, with requirements for three 12‑hour holiday shifts per season and every other weekend. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Associate’s Degree (or higher) in Respiratory Therapy or Respiratory Care. Active NBRC credential and active NewYorkState Respiratory Therapist license. 3+ years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care hospital setting, including Emergency Department (ED) and adult critical care required. 1+ year experience working in a Level3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) preferred.
