This role oversees the end-to-end shipping, receiving, and inventory control process to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective movement of materials and products. The position focuses on analyzing shipping costs, improving operational efficiency, maintaining high inventory accuracy, and supporting laboratory operations, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a high-quality customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze internal trends in shipping costs and identify opportunities to reduce expenses for end customers.
• Develop and implement procedures and process improvements to reduce shipping costs while maintaining service quality.
• Collaborate closely with sales, operations, marketing, and engineering teams to ensure a seamless, end-to-end customer experience.
• Create accurate shipping documents and reports for both international and domestic shipments.
• Develop and maintain control systems to ensure inventory accuracy, availability, and traceability.
• Improve operational efficiency to support cost-effective scale-up of shipping and receiving operations.
• Maintain a highly organized work environment using 5S principles to support smooth material, data, and document flow.
• Monitor, record, and address shipping issues or delays, escalating and resolving problems promptly.
• Oversee the development and implementation of best practices for cycle counting and physical inventory processes.
• Pack, ship, receive, and maintain inventory of products and raw materials, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
• Examine, stock, and distribute materials within inventory, ensuring correct placement and documentation.
• Receive shipments from suppliers and process them through ERP/MRP systems, including verification, documentation, and transfer to appropriate departments.
• Perform aspects of laboratory maintenance and support, including inventorying supplies and placing orders as needed.
• Remove biohazard and chemical waste from laboratory bins in accordance with established procedures.
• Replenish laboratory consumables to ensure continuous availability for operations.
• Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, as needed to move and organize materials safely and efficiently.
• Communicate task status to stakeholders, proactively follow up on open items, and ensure on-time completion of deliverables.

Essential Skills

• Experience with MRP or ERP software systems, such as SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle.
• Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and inventory handling.
• Ability to manage a wide variety of tasks simultaneously and maintain clear communication of task status to stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of supply chain management, including procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, and transportation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to implement or support Process Excellence, LEAN, and 5S principles in daily operations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems for processing shipments and inventory transactions.
• Ability to monitor, record, and resolve shipping issues or delays in a timely and accurate manner.
• Capability to safely move or lift objects up to 50 pounds and stand for several hours as needed.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug screening for roles involving forklift operation or transportation of goods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of FedEx, DHL Worldwide, and UPS shipping systems is preferred.
• Experience working with SAP ERP or similar systems for shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation.
• Experience implementing or working within LEAN and 5S environments is highly desirable.
• Comfort working in ISO and GMP-compliant manufacturing environments.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain a highly structured and orderly workspace.
• Self-starter mentality with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
• Highly motivated team player with strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience with cycle counting and physical inventory processes.
• Ability to support laboratory operations, including supply inventory, waste removal, and consumable replenishment.

Work Environment

The role operates primarily in an ISO, GMP, LEAN manufacturing environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and process discipline. You will work on a first-shift schedule, handling shipping, receiving, and inventory tasks both in warehouse and laboratory-support areas. The position involves regular use of ERP/MRP systems, such as SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle, as well as shipping platforms and material handling equipment, including forklifts. You will frequently stand for extended periods, move or lift objects up to 50 pounds, and work in organized, 5S-driven spaces where cleanliness, order, and compliance with established procedures are essential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgewater, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
