Embedded Security Engineer (Starlink)

Responsibilities

• Design and build cryptographic services and other security-critical infrastructure for Starlink
• Develop security features for Starlink routers, dishes, gateways, and satellites
• Design security into factory processes and provide supporting network services
• Maintain production systems and improve their security posture through direct implementation and recommendations
• Build prototypes and identify, design, and test security improvements
• Collaborate with other engineering teams and support secure, reliable internet access

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another STEM discipline, or 2+ years of professional experience in security software development in lieu of a degree
• Experience with at least one software development language, such as Python, C++, or Golang
• Experience designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or other enterprise-scale infrastructure
• Preferred experience contributing security improvements to complex systems
• Preferred experience with Trusted Platform Modules and Hardware Security Modules
• Fundamental understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP and UDP-based protocols
• Advanced degree in a technical or engineering discipline is preferred
• Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
• Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements
