Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a Behavior Paraprofessional in a dynamic educational environment for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, onsite position near Tacoma, WA, is ideal for professionals passionate about assisting students who require behavioral support, especially within self-contained classrooms.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience in paraprofessional roles within school settings, particularly with students exhibiting severe behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with or willingness to work in self-contained classrooms
• CPI certification (or readiness to obtain certification promptly)
• Prior experience with Native American student populations is highly valued
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication skills and positive classroom presence
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving student needs and instructional strategies

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to K-12 students, assisting with behavioral interventions and daily activities
• Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral strategies
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all students
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and proactively support positive student behavior
• Participate in ongoing training, including obtaining CPI certification if not already held
• Support cultural sensitivity and embrace opportunities to work with a Native American student population
