We provide maintenance engineers with a maintenance van and a cell phone, enabling them to travel to the travel plazas they support. Position Overview We need a highly skilled hands‑on Maintenance Engineer with a self‑starter attitude, commitment to quality and efficiency, responsible for performing general maintenance and commercial kitchen equipment repair for travel plazas in PA, supporting 4 sites and ensuring the plaza’s equipment operates efficiently. This is a full‑time position reporting to the Facilities Manager. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose and perform repairs and maintenance on all food service equipment. Maintain small appliances, kitchen equipment, and perform minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs. Ensure that all equipment is in a safe operating condition. Coordinate repairs within approved budgetary guidelines. Maintain preventative maintenance schedule and records. Travel to various travel plazas in PA to repair and maintain all facility‑related items. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with commercial kitchen equipment repair and maintenance. Strong working knowledge of hot‑side (grills, ovens, fryers, microwaves) and cold‑side (refrigeration, freezers, prep tables) equipment. Experience with beverage‑side equipment such as coffee brewers, espresso machines, coffee grinders. Familiarity with commercial electrical and gas systems (single‑phase 120, 208 & three‑phase 208/480 voltages). Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and service manuals. Proficiency with basic hand tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment. Plumbing skills – diagnose plumbing issues and determine solutions for commercial plumbing systems. Carpentry, paint, tile, and door repair skills – basic repairs to cabinets, furniture, fixtures, laminates, counters, façade, doors. To operate a company vehicle, applicant must be at least 25 years old with a valid driver’s license. Experience in high‑volume environments (restaurants, schools, hospitals). Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Basic computer skills. Physical requirements: stand for long periods, bend, twist, lift up to 80 lbs, perform tasks while on a ladder, handle repetitive hand and arm motions, be exposed to extreme heat or cold. Preferred Experience & Skills Knowledge of CMMS software is helpful. Certificate of completion of courses in the above trades is recommended but not required.
