Respiratory Therapist
$24.88 - $37 per hourChi
Overview As a Respiratory Therapist, you will join an established team of RTs who deliver highly specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients experiencing breathing issues. You will provide treatments ranging from breathing techniques and nebulizer treatments to ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support. You will apply assessment skills and critical thinking to manage diverse patient needs, develop care plans, and respond calmly in routine and emergent situations. A strong sense of urgency, calm under pressure, and proactive problem solving are essential to success in this role. Responsibilities Plan and administer non-medicated aerosol and humidity therapy Plan and administer oxygen therapy, including implementation of oxygen therapy protocol where appropriate Plan and administer aerosolized medication and specialty gas therapy Plan and administer COPD care program Perform airway management Plan and administer incentive spirometry Support compensation and benefits information as applicable (note: refer to official offer for details) Qualifications Associate of Science in Cardiopulmonary Services, upon hire or equivalent Respiratory Care from an accredited respiratory therapy educational program, upon hire Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure in KY, upon hire Certified Respiratory Therapist, upon hire Basic Life Support (CPR), upon hire Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days Where You'll Work Saint Joseph Hospital, a 433-bed hospital founded in 1877, located in Lexington, Kentucky.
