Energy Efficiency Projects Lead

Project Manager/Project Engineer – Energy Management Program Energy Management Program – energy efficiency program for customers to help reduce cost and consumption. The role assists customers ranging from large to smaller consumers to run existing equipment more efficiently and achieve energy savings. Travel requirements: 3 days onsite per week (2 days in office and a possible field day). Must travel across the entire service territory, ideally local to NJ. Responsibilities Provide commercial & industrial program management oversight over scope, schedule and budget of energy efficiency projects in compliance with BPU order and client procedures. Develop and maintain processes for implementing energy efficiency projects and programs in accordance with Energy Solutions (Engineered Solutions, Energy Management, and Advanced Custom) requirements. Interface with client associates, vendors, customers, and outside consultants to ensure program rules and requirements are maintained, projects are cost‑effective, and information for management and regulatory reporting is accurate and timely. Perform and oversee program and project QA/QC as required; apply knowledge of energy savings measures and techniques to program and project oversight; be familiar with residential and commercial energy efficiency program incentive structures. Manage customer relationships to provide program services with high customer satisfaction. Coordinate and direct activities of vendors and contractors; review vendor deliverables; monitor vendor performance and review/process vendor invoices. Ensure vendor and employee compliance with safety protocols and practices. Compile and analyze data from various projects/sources to monitor the status of customer projects and report to management; projects may include installation of various energy conservation measures (ECMs) such as HVAC, lighting, motors, energy management systems, etc. Analyze performance results for management reports and provide monthly project status forecasts. Assist with special projects and ad‑hoc requests as necessary. Perform project site visits as required. Develop and customize a customer's project proposal to maximize incentives and energy savings by combining commercial & industrial program incentive structures. Coordinate and direct activities of business development, trade allies, and vendors. Qualifications B.S. degree plus 5 years of experience in energy efficiency programs, construction, or related fields; or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree. Experience processing milestone‑based construction payments and forecasting financial spend. Knowledge of energy efficiency measures, implementation, and cost. Demonstrated excellent communication skills (oral and written). Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel & Word). Commitment to process improvement and attention to detail. Ability to travel within client territory to conduct meetings with customers, perform inspections, and manage relationships with contractors. Valid U.S. driver’s license.
