HIV Injectable Nurse

Responsibilities Administer long-acting injectable HIV therapies and related medications according to provider orders and clinical protocols. Assess patients prior to injections for adverse reactions, contraindications, and treatment compliance. Monitor and document patient responses, side effects, and follow-up care. Provide education regarding HIV treatment, injectable medications, adherence, and prevention strategies. Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) documentation. Coordinate medication inventory, storage, and handling according to manufacturer and infection control guidelines. Schedule and track recurring injection appointments to ensure continuity of care. Collaborate with healthcare providers, pharmacists, case managers, and support staff regarding patient treatment plans. Perform general nursing duties including vital signs, patient intake, medication administration, specimen collection, and patient follow-up. Assist with prior authorizations, medication coordination, and patient referrals as needed. Support infection control standards and maintain a clean and safe clinical environment. Provide cross-coverage and clinical assistance for other specialties and departments within the organization as needed. Float between clinic areas or specialties to assist with patient care demands and staffing coverage. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and ongoing clinical training. Follow OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, and infection control standards at all times. Requirements Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. 3 years of ambulatory care or community health experience. Strong working knowledge of eClinicalWorks and documentation standards. Experience leading or mentoring clinical support staff. Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities. Knowledge of EMR systems and clinical workflows. Ability to work in a fast-paced, underserved community setting.
