**Job Title:**Teacher of the Visually Impaired**Pay Range:**$40-45/hour**Job Description:****Teacher of the Visually Impaired | Up to $45/hour | Winston-Salem, NC | Full-Time | 2026-2027 School Year****Position Details*** Full Time, 1.0 FTE* Starting at the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year, for the entire school year**What You’ll Do*** Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments in alignment with their IEPs* Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments to guide instructional planning* Adapt materials into accessible formats such as braille, large print, and tactile graphics* Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to support student access and success* Support development of independence, assistive technology use, and compensatory skills**What We’re Looking For*** **Bachelor’s degree from regionally accredited college or university in Special Education or related field.*** **Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in Visually Impaired (or area of Exceptional Children's Teaching)** **Why Join Us*** Competitive pay (Up to $45/hour) + stable school-year schedule* Multiple placement options based on your experience and preference* Supportive, local district partnership* W-2 employment with liability insurance included* Healthcare benefits\\* + 401(k) with company match* Reimbursement for licensure and professional development + referral bonuses**What You’ll Do*** Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs* Provide specialized instruction across academic subjects* Manage classroom behavior and create a structured, supportive environment* Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families* Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly* Write progress reports and maintain compliant documentation* Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies for diverse learning needs* Incorporate technology and resources to enhance learning**What We’re Looking For*** **MUST HAVE: NCDPI License in Visually Impaired (or area of Exceptional Children's Teaching)*** Strong classroom management and collaboration skills**About Ampersand Therapy**Ampersand Therapy is a women- and therapist-operated company built by providers who understand school-based work.
