Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) float nurse position is based in the Saint Louis area. This role involves floating to multiple ICUs including Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac/Heart and Vascular, Neurology, Medicine, and COVID units. The nurse will provide independent, high-quality care across various critical care settings, with a focus on maintaining appropriate patient ratios and flexibility to support inpatient floors and non-critical care units as needed.

Job Details:

• Location: Saint Louis, MO
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license in Missouri or a compact state, with IL license required at time of submittal; Certifications in ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, and OCN; Two years ICU experience; Ability to float to inpatient floors with ratios of no more than 1:3; Previous experience with EPIC charting system is preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with hemodynamic interpretation, vasoactive drips, CRRT, ECMO, ICP monitoring, Vents, IV starts, Telemetry, and Conscious Sedation; Cardiac skills such as IABP, Impella, and Vasoactive drips; Trauma Level I or II experience preferred.
• Additional Information: The position involves floating across multiple ICU units including Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac/Heart and Vascular, Neurology, Medicine, and COVID. The role does not require specific CVICU experience but requires strong, independent nursing skills. The candidate must have at least two years of ICU experience and be able to perform procedures such as arterial lines, blood product administration, and ventilated patient care. Certification compliance and physical readiness are mandatory prior to start.
