Salary Information Full Salary Range: $66,879.97 – $96,975.96 Annually. Anticipated Hiring Range: $66,879.97 – $80,559.00 Annually. The City of Greeley provides both the full salary range for transparency and the anticipated hiring range, which is the range within which an offer will be made. The final offer depends on experience, education, certifications, and other factors. Job Summary The Recreation Supervisor will oversee operations and staff at the Family FunPlex and Recreation Center, managing 60–180 part‑time employees, 4 full‑time staff, risk management, emergency response, training, onboarding, customer service, membership sales, and communication initiatives. The role reports to a Recreation Manager. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college/university or equivalent technical training. 2–4 years of experience in a related field, including supervisory or management skills. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Preferred Spanish/English bilingual. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of recreation practices, trends, issues, and demographics, and ability to incorporate this knowledge into programming. Experience with administrative practices related to planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of recreational programs. Strong negotiation skills with personnel, community organizations, and participants. Preferred knowledge of Microsoft 365, Amilia, When to Work, Connect 2 Concepts, Oracle, Brightwheel, and SurveyMonkey. Essential Job Duties Personnel Management - Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Recreation Coordinators and Customer Service Representatives; conduct regular team meetings and staff development sessions. Facility and Risk Management - Serve as the point person for all operations; ensure compliance with local, state, federal guidelines; oversee scheduling, maintenance, capital projects, and risk‑management plans. Fiscal Management - Develop and monitor facility and program budgets; oversee procurement, payroll, and timekeeping. Membership/Customer Relations - Manage membership and admission offerings; cultivate relationships with participants, members, guests, and community partners. Technology and Assessment - Utilize software for reporting; train staff in technology use; administer surveys and focus groups to improve programs. Program Management - Collaborate with the Communication and Engagement Department to develop new recreation programs and update marketing materials. Communication and Partnerships - Work closely with community partners, vendors, and contractors; establish contracts and operating schedules. Problem Solving and Decision Making - Resolve conflicts and make decisions within the framework of departmental policies and objectives. Supervisor Responsibilities Organize and delegate assignments to team members. Timekeeping and payroll processing. Hiring, training, motivating, and coaching employees. Evaluating employee performance and goal setting. Holding employees accountable for tasks and goals. Providing timely feedback and development opportunities. Resolving conflicts and complaints. Analyzing processes to improve efficiency. Establishing and achieving business and financial objectives. Ensuring compliance with safety procedures. Work Environment The role is primarily performed in an office environment. The City of Greeley offers a telework policy, allowing eligible positions to incorporate remote work under management approval. Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, use hands, lift up to 10 pounds, and perform tasks that require vision and communication skills. Occasionally required to stand, lift, and provide manual dexterity for data entry and verification.
