Experienced in HVAC or mechanical commissioning? There are opportunities to significantly increase your earning potential while building a long-term career in the hyperscale data center industry.

I'm supporting a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that's expanding its mechanical commissioning team to deliver major data center projects across Northern Virginia and Indiana.

With a substantial pipeline of work and continued investment in its commissioning division, the business is looking to hire engineers across multiple experience levels.

That includes L1–L3 Mechanical Commissioning Engineers as well as more senior professionals with L4 Functional Performance Testing and L5 Integrated Systems Testing experience.

Why consider making a move?

• Exceptional compensation potential: Highly competitive base salaries, strong benefits and attractive per diem arrangements for eligible travel assignments.
• Project security: Join an established engineering business with a long-term pipeline of high-profile data center developments.
• Technical progression: Gain experience across increasingly complex mechanical and cooling infrastructure, with opportunities to develop into L4/L5 commissioning.
• Career development: Clear opportunities to move into Senior, Lead, Commissioning Management and project leadership positions.
• High-profile hyperscale projects: Work on some of the most technically demanding mission-critical facilities in the country.
• Location flexibility: Live anywhere along the East Coast, provided you're willing to travel to projects in Northern Virginia and Indiana. Home-based when not on site.

What experience are we looking for?

Mechanical Commissioning Engineers, HVAC Commissioning Engineers, Mechanical Commissioning Specialists and experienced HVAC professionals with relevant commissioning exposure.

Experience with the following systems is particularly relevant:

• Chillers, cooling towers and chilled-water systems
• Pumps, VFDs, CRAH/CRAC units and AHUs
• BAS/BMS controls and sequences of operation
• Cooling redundancy, equipment startup and functional testing

We're recruiting across two experience levels:

L1–L3 Engineers: Mechanical installation verification, QA/QC inspections, equipment readiness, startup support, pre-functional checks, point-to-point verification and equipment-level testing.

L4–L5 Senior Engineers: Functional Performance Testing, mechanical failure scenarios, cooling redundancy testing, BAS/BMS sequence verification, Integrated Systems Testing and commissioning leadership.

For W2 contractors looking for greater stability...

If you're currently moving between assignments, this offers the chance to retain strong earning potential while benefiting from the security, professional development and long-term opportunities of an established consultancy.

Equally, if you're already employed permanently but feel your technical development or earning potential has plateaued, this could be an excellent next step.
