Fleet Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description Job Description Pay = $18.00 to $25.00 per hour. Very dependent on experience. Mechanic / Trailer Tech As a Trucking Mechanic or Trailer Tech, you're the one who keeps the equipment safe and operational. Your day is filled with a range of problem solving and mechanical challenges. Whether you're pulling injectors or welding a damaged trailer, you're ready to tackle any obstacle to keep the fleet running. You gain satisfaction from identifying problems, crafting solutions, and aggressively completing work to ensure the 60 years of exceptional customer service continues. Description As a Mechanic / Trailer Tech, you work with Operations and Drivers to ensure a safe and operational fleet. When equipment needs service, you quickly assess the situation. Often you take care of the situation with a solution on the spot, using your mechanical knowledge. The entire team benefits from your commitment to providing the best care for our team and fleet. By helping maintain a strong focus on safety and preventive maintenance, the Mechanic / Shop Assistant is instrumental to the team’s success. Responsibilities: Repair trucks, trailers, and other equipment Repair and maintain tanker trailers including leak checks, rebuilding valves, and prep for shipments. Ability to assess safety and mechanical issues, then provide solutions or refer them to other team members Perform routine vehicle maintenance Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components Perform quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle to the customer Flexibility to perform different tasks from engine work to shop clean up Ability to embrace the challenge of balancing preventive maintenance with addressing equipment failures Qualifications: Previous experience as a diesel mechanic preferred Knowledge of shop equipment Basic welding skills Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Deadline and detail-oriented Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Must be a person with integrity who brings a positive attitude to the office every day. You maintain composure and safety focus while troubleshooting and solving issues. You can work unsupervised when delivering potential solutions.
