Critical Care/ICU Nurse Practitioner

Local Team Collaboration: Join our team of advanced practice providers and tele-critical care physicians to provide exceptional patient care resulting in positive patient outcomes. Qualifications: Board Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Two years of experience as an independent provider in the ICU (with procedure logs). Montana Nurse Practitioners must demonstrate completion of 6,240 hours of supervised practice under a collaborative agreement with a physician. Must have certificate of full independent practice authority from the state of Montana. Active Montana license and DEA preferred. Authorized to work in the United States. Scheduling: ICU coverage is 12-hour day Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider 7 a.m. -7 p.m. working in collaboration with Sound tele-ICU physician. Average of 15 shifts per month, modified block shift schedule. Key Responsibilities: 10-bed surgical ICU with cardiothoracic patients and observation ICU patients, estimated 8 encounters per day. Work collaboratively with the cardiothoracic surgeon, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, consultants and other hospital team members to deliver high quality, evidence-based critical care services. Perform comprehensive assessments and implement patient treatment plans. Perform bedside procedures within scope of practice including central line and arterial line placement and intubation. Manage mechanical ventilation in collaboration with respiratory therapy. Participate in goals of care discussions and family communication. Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives as determined.
