In this critical role, you will provide expert nursing care on a 36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit with a focus on medical oncology, pediatric patients, and high-acuity care. Your expertise will help manage complex cases involving solid tumors, orthopedic, and thoracic oncology, utilizing advanced monitoring equipment and procedures. This position offers the flexibility of a night shift-19:00 to 07:30, three days a week-perfect for maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Required Skills

• Minimum 2 years of high-acuity PCU or telemetry nursing experience, preferably in oncology
• Strong understanding of infection prevention and patient safety protocols
• Proficiency in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing cardiac drips
• Expertise with equipment such as telemetry monitors, IV pumps, chest tubes, and airway management tools
• Ability to perform invasive procedures like starting IVs, port access, and blood product administration
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for rapid response and critical patient care

Nice to Have Skills

• Management of dysrhythmias and insulin protocols
• Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Wound care experience, including VAC therapy
• Advanced airway management (CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy care)
• Experience with arterial lines, surgical drains, and non-invasive airway devices

Preferred Education and Experience

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Previous travel nursing experience in high-acuity or oncology units

Other Requirements

• Active Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), NIH certification
• Willingness to float within units of similar or lower acuity as needed
• Ability to work night shift on a 3x12 schedule
• Reliability and flexibility to meet unit staffing requirements
