Bus Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Bus Assistant in District. This part-time position involves providing support to the bus driver and ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers, particularly children. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to work well in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
- Assist the bus driver in the safe operation of the bus and ensure compliance with all traffic regulations.
- Help passengers, especially children, board and exit the bus safely.
- Monitor passenger behavior and maintain a safe and respectful environment during transit.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding bus schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Conduct regular checks of the bus to ensure it is clean and free of hazards.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues to the bus driver or appropriate authorities.
- Provide first aid assistance if necessary and be prepared for emergency situations.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay updated on safety protocols and procedures.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or in a customer service role is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Must pass a background check and any required training certifications.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
- Physical ability to assist passengers and perform necessary tasks related to the role.
- A valid driver's license is preferred but not required.
