Job Title Environmental Service Aide Location 200 Somerset St., New Brunswick, NJ 08901 Department Environmental Services Shift Evening (4:00 pm–12:30 am) Schedule Type Per Diem (Hourly) Pay Range $17.73 per hour Job Overview Cleans all patient and non-patient areas of the hospital, and other areas as directed. Scheduling Requirements Evening shift, 4:00 pm–12:30 am Per Diem Qualifications Must be able to speak, read, and write English. Essential Functions Dust, damp mop, spot clean and disinfect fixtures, furnishings in both patient and non-patient areas. Vacuum and spot clean mats and carpets, as assigned. Empty, clean and re‑line waste baskets. Transport regular and contaminated waste to the utility room. Wash and disinfect bed/crib at discharge and prepare bed for new occupant. Follow isolation cleaning procedures when cleaning isolation rooms to prevent the spread of pathogens. Clean and disinfect daily bathroom fixtures, mirrors, windows, doors, walls and replenish bathroom supplies if necessary. Notify supervisor when supplies in the Environmental Services storage room are low. Write work orders when repairs are needed in assigned areas. Maintain tools and equipment and be responsible for economical use of supplies. Enhance professional growth and development by attending in‑services, required meetings and other educational programs.
