About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Telemetry competencies Description: Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a stepdown unit. The unit provides care primarily for adult patients. Common patient diagnoses include CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, and general weakness. Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. The nursing team will be supported by nursing assistants, educators, care managers, social workers, dieticians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. Successful candidates will thrive in a collaborative environment. Candidates will be required to pass an open book exam during orientation, achieving a score of 90% or higher. Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments. Candidates must demonstrate competency with telemetry. The unit emphasizes hourly rounding and responsiveness to patient needs. Flexibility for potential floating to other medical-surgical areas may be required. Mechanical lifts are available in every other room for patient safety.
