Job Description The Greer Group is hiring Controls Engineers for our Manufacturing client located in Mebane, NC. This is a first shift Contract position for about 6 months, that could be possibly extended!
Hours: Monday-Friday, 6: 45am-3: 15pm Pay: $54-$60/Hour depending on experience. Shift: 1st shift, but must be able to have flexibility to work around operations schedule if it changes.

Responsibilities:
- Drive all actions to ensure the plant achieves its Safety, Quality, Delivery & Productivity Goals.
- Evaluates machines or products on manufacturing floor for system related problems and recommends or implements corrective action.
- Be part of the lead team of the site automation engineering strategy.
- Provide regular updates to manager on progress and status of projects;Submits alternative solutions on problems and areas of concerns.
- Coordinate resolution of difficult technical problems.
- Work collaboratively with other functions in the organization to achieve objectives.
- Participates in product and system design review to increase confidence level and reduce cycle time.
- Provide Hands on support in troubleshooting, repairing, modifying electrical, PLC programming, and process operation traceability issues.
- Document solutions and reviews with team.
- Access, Maintain and Manage the change of PLC programs with historical programming notes and comments on the GKN intranet.
- Work closely with all levels of the organization for equipment and process improvements.
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks as needed on the control circuits of equipment.
- Utilize LEAN tools such as Standardized Work, 5S, Visual Management as well as leading Kaizen projects and documenting results to support continuous improvement projects
- Be responsible for promoting & steering personal career development through the Performance Management Process
- Perform any other duties as specified by Engineering Manager
- Must pass a background check and drug test
- Must show proof of Highschool education
- Experience in implementing data collection and traceability systems is required.
- Experience in PLC programming using controllers like Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron etc., is preferred, as is Serialization with Systech TIPS, Networks and Cognex Vision Systems.
- Be detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proposal and estimate development. Possess strong team working and personal skills.
- 5 or more year of experience in manufacturing environment.
- Be physically capable of performing all the above duties with ability of lifting 50 lbs.
- Must be self-motivated and willing to support a facility and team that operates (2nd and 3rd shifts) and/or occasionally work over normal work hours if needed.
- Perform all work to a high quality standard and maintain a high level of organization and housekeeping.
- Have a good work behaviors and show initiative.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
