Truck manager for a Snap-on Franchise

Position Summary The Snap-on Truck Manager is responsible for the overall operation, growth, and profitability of a mobile Snap-on Tools business. This position combines sales, customer service, inventory management, route planning, account management, and business development. The Truck Manager builds strong relationships with professional technicians and automotive industry customers while providing exceptional service and maintaining a professional, organized mobile store. Key Responsibilities Sales & Customer Service Develop and maintain strong relationships with automotive technicians, repair shops, dealerships, and other professional customers. Operate the Snap-on mobile store and conduct regular customer visits according to an established route. Demonstrate and sell Snap-on tools, equipment, and related products. Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions. Provide knowledgeable product demonstrations and explain product features, benefits, and proper use. Deliver exceptional customer service and promptly address customer questions or concerns. Build new customer relationships and identify opportunities to increase sales within the territory. Business & Financial Management Manage the truck as an independent business, with responsibility for sales performance, expenses, profitability, and cash flow. Establish sales goals and develop strategies to achieve or exceed them. Monitor sales trends, customer purchasing patterns, and territory opportunities. Maintain accurate customer accounts and ensure payments and account balances are properly managed. Control operating expenses while maintaining high customer service standards. Prepare and maintain required business and sales records. Inventory Management Maintain an accurate and well-organized inventory of tools and equipment. Monitor inventory levels and identify products that need to be replenished. Ensure the mobile store is clean, organized, properly stocked, and professionally presented. Receive, inspect, organize, and display new inventory. Track special orders and ensure customers receive their products promptly. Route & Territory Management Maintain a consistent route and schedule for customer visits. Plan daily and weekly activities to maximize customer contact and sales opportunities. Develop new accounts and expand the customer base within the assigned territory. Attend trade events, shop visits, demonstrations, and other activities that support business growth. Stay informed about industry trends, customer needs, and competitive products. Professional Standards & Compliance Operate the truck safely and responsibly. Maintain a professional appearance and customer-facing presence. Follow all Snap-on policies, procedures, and business requirements. Protect company and customer information. Maintain appropriate records and documentation. Represent the Snap-on brand positively within the community and automotive industry. Qualifications Previous sales, customer service, business management, or automotive industry experience preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Self-motivated and comfortable working independently. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Basic understanding of business financials, sales goals, and inventory management. Ability to learn and demonstrate technical products. Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate the assigned vehicle. Ability to lift, carry, and handle tools and equipment as required. Preferred Experience Automotive technician or mechanical experience. Professional tool sales experience. Route sales or territory management experience. Small-business ownership or management experience. Experience working with automotive dealerships, independent repair shops, or fleet operations.
