Job TitleTransport EMTJob DescriptionWe are searching for a Transport EMT– someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will perform a variety of routine and specialized patient care activities, as assigned, under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Respiratory Therapist (RRT). The Transport Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will operate in a dual role acting as both an EMT transport team member and as a communication specialist in the Transport Center.Think you've got what it takes?QualificationsSuccessful completion of an Emergency Vehicle Operation Course (EVOC) requiredBLS - Cert-Basic Life Support American Heart Association requiredEMT - Emergency Medical Tech Texas Department of State Health Services required orEMT-B - Emergency Medical Tech-Basic Texas Department of State Health Services required orEMT-I - Emergency Medical Tech-Interm Texas Department of State Health Services required orEMT-A - Advanced EMT Texas Department of State Health Services required orEMT-P - Emergency Medical Tech-Parame Texas Department of State Health Services required orLIC PAR - Lic-Paramedic Texas Department of State Health Services requiredDispatch skills highly preferredResponsibilitiesProvide patient care through policies, protocols and guidelines delegated by the RN or RRT within the EMT scope of practiceProvides high quality patient care and customer serviceObtain and document vital signs and physiological values using appropriate monitors. Respond appropriately to alarms and notify the RN of abnormal findingsMaintains confidentiality concerning patient/family issues and demonstrates sensitivity to information, ensuring privacy by understanding HIPPA laws as it pertains to health informationEnsures timely response to campus emergencies by rapid/accurate deployment of the code response team in the Transport Center
